Tattoo

One thing we missed when we were in Edinburgh 10 years ago, and swore we wouldn't miss this time, was the Military Tattoo. We had understood it to be an exhibition of the clans. Pipes. We were expecting lots and lots of pipes. And everyone we know who has been loved it. Us, not so much. There were very few bagpipes. Lots of marching bands, a few very good, some okay, some pretty bad. To each her own.




One thing we both thought was pretty cool was that they lit up the castle in different ways during the different bands. This picture was taken while the humongous marching band from India was playing (badly). The castle looked like it was draped in a sari.
